~ Prologue ~
I n an age shrouded amongst the chronological events of history, that of the one bridging Mu and Poseid, history was being created…not by man's word, but by his action. In this time, where myth and magic were reality…a way of life, mankind strayed from the divine and struggled to harness his surroundings and earthly skills. Through their acquired techniques of farming, metalworking, and civilizations, man began to use his physical talents and knowledge for the advancement of his material culture and kind; unfortunately, he also utilized his newly acquired emotions of hatred and aggression for superiority. Tempted by the corporeal pleasures and enticements the world had to offer, mankind began to forget about his true path and destiny, setting into motion generations of needless pain and suffering.
Fueled by fear and driven by pride, humans began destroying what they could not control…attacking what they did not understand…and condemning that which was different. Pioneers of the unknown and veterans of the unseen, working for advancement and unity, found themselves massed with superstitions and ignorance, in a war they did not ask for, their only crime…non-conformity. None of these living beings were more sought after than the Arcone, (Ar-cone), better known whispered through the ages as…the dragon.
Originally living in unison with man, the Arcone had much hope for cooperation and mutual benefit between the two cultures. Unfortunately, throughout two hundred years of co-existence, man could not resolve his need for absolute power. Simultaneously, ten thousand years of prior evolution, and near self-extermination for the Arcone, had not completely resolved their feelings for segregation, and power as well, within some of their bloodlines.
Close relationships were originally built between humans and Arconians, living and learning much from each other, especially from the five virtuously aligned families of the Antarsian (An-tar-shun), known best for their bloodlines possessing body colors of gold, silver, bronze, copper, or brass. The five surreptitiously aligned families of the Synasian (Syn-a-shun), known best for their bloodlines possessing body colors of red, blue, green, black, or white, began to dislike the humans and their mannerisms.
Some of the Synasian bloodlines began to argue that the humans would not only destroy themselves, but also jeopardize ten thousand years of effort and evolution, achieved by the Arcone in the process. The Antarsian bloodlines, however, were more lenient and understanding towards the humans. Not only were there only a small percentage of humans that exerted these untrustworthy characteristics, but the Antarsians were also fascinated by human efforts and potential that they possessed. The Antarsians argued that the humans' eminent destruction of their own kind would only manifest in the absence of help and guidance by the Arcone, who had followed the same path early in their own existence.
The Antarsians argument was to no avail, and so it was then decided within the Arconian High Council, comprised of the eldest member from each of the Antarsian and Synasian bloodlines, to separate civilizations and patiently wait until the humans had established themselves within their own kind before any reintegration would be attempted.
After the separation, it was also decided to re-establish the remnants of the Arconian civilization across the sea, far from man, so as not to risk any interference with his advancement. The Arconian's plan ultimately involved the slow and gradual integration of humans as their fears and primal instincts were shed from them, with the future result of one harmonious culture.
With the positive intent of achieving their vision, the Arcone renewed their vow of absolute dedication to the purification of their own souls, and the complete abolishment of their own primal instincts. They were hopeful of leading other cultures by example and teaching from their own faults. To them, the possibilities seemed endless.
Unfortunately, an oath and morals were not enough for some to strive for enlightenment; it only served as a pre-tense for deception and greed with a result of spiritual regression, not progression. Ignoring the moral teachings of the Higher Power that binds all living things, a few of the Arcone decided to strive for personal gain and superiority, instead of a utopian society.
Driven by their own selfishness and greed, these tactics sought to threaten and destroy all divine intentions…far worse than the humans could ever do. Based upon these strategies, all other societies, including the humans, would either have to yield, or be led astray from the righteous path to enlightenment, ensuring evil across the lands.
Unfortunately, ten thousand years of evolution and achievement had taught these fallen few nothing. It also had not wizened the others enough to recognize the early signs. As the wheels were secretly set into motion…betrayal, pain, and sorrow were eminent now, but their reign was not assured...
